This summer, I had the chance to visit Freiburg, and it pleasantly surprised me. The city is vibrant with students, thanks to the University of Freiburg, and the sheer number of bicycles is astonishing! It feels like nearly everyone here bikes, which adds to the city's laid-back, eco-friendly vibe.
If you love cycling, Freiburg is a must-visit. However, unlike the locals, I opted for a more relaxed approach, relying on trains and trams to get around. The tram system is well-established, affordable, and super easy to use. You can even purchase a day pass for just 6 euros, making it a stress-free way to explore the city.

Merchants' Hall (Historisches Kaufhaus):Just a stone’s throw from the cathedral, the Merchants' Hall is a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture. Its striking red facade and ornate decorations make it a great spot for some photos.
